Navigate Your Pain Changes Direction To Navigate Health

After pilot testing their business concept in May of 2021 with a direct to consumer, (DTC), approach as Navigate Your Pain, the owners learned some things that made them change their business approach. Dr. Marc Rubenstein, PT, DPT, Cert-APHPT, states, “When we were performing consults for pain, we realized that many times we came back to changes in health behaviors that were a driving force in the pain developing in the first place.  Not only were we consulting about pain and the best exercises/movements to perform, we were also consulting these clients about health behaviors like sleep, stress and nutrition.”

Those insights gathered during the pilot program led the team to change the name of their business to Navigate Health, which now offers pain consults, health coaching, remote health monitoring and curated health information.  All of these services are delivered directly to employers, (DTE), or groups of any size and to work as upstream as possible and prevent problems from occurring in the first place.  Co-founder, content contributor and pain science expert Megan Doyle, MS, OTR/L, FPS, Cert-APHPT added, “Pain is often the final sign our body uses to get our attention to making necessary health behavior changes, and we realized that the change to Navigate Health more fully encompassed our goal to guide that prevention mindset for our clients.”

Pain consults are performed virtually at a time convenient for the employee.  These consults are short and meant to triage the individual to help them mitigate their problem and navigate the health care system if necessary.  Included in the consultation is a follow-up one week later to make sure that the employee is on the right path.

Health coaching is also offered to employees.  Again, these sessions are short and are focused on an area in which the employee is ready to make a change.  These sessions can be used to develop an exercise program, advise on sleep issues, nutrition or stress management.  Referrals are also made when necessary.

Remote health monitoring is utilized as a way to engage the population using Garmin wearable technology.  The CISRS system, (cloud based insights surveillance and reporting system), developed by Pro-Activity Associates, is utilized by our providers to monitor your team and to nudge employees towards better health.

Finally, a series of health infographics, blog posts, and videos are developed and shared with your employee group to be consumed at the employees desired time.

“We feel that with our shift towards Navigate Health, we will be able to help more people stay healthy, out of pain and when possible, out of the complex medical system.  We are excited to offer these services to employer groups across the country.”
